A Steamy Heavy Metal Novella
Katie Logan has had a secret crush on her best friend Johnny Church since high school, but he’s never looked at her the same way. So when Johnny—now a famous rock-and-roll guitarist—comes home to visit, Katie can’t bring herself to tell him she’s engaged to be married. She should have, though, because she soon discovers that maybe the attraction is mutual…
High school English teacher Erin Lancaster is stuck with the unwelcome job of filling in for the injured cheerleading coach, but she wants to back out when she discovers she has to be auctioned as a date during the annual spring fundraiser. She’s horrified to find her rock star crush Riley Schultz, former frontman of Spawn, will be playing emcee for the event, but she’s even more shocked that he also happens to be the highest bidder for her affections, and sparks fly when she discovers that maybe their attraction is mutual.
Riley's been in the music business long enough to know that true love is not in the cards for him, but the cute blonde he's dropped a wad of cash on would be a welcome distraction during his vacation. He has no idea there's more to her than meets the eye. Will one week together be enough for them to quell the flames, to enjoy everything but?
Casey Williams has left a loveless marriage and is trying to rebuild her life. She finds that, even though you can never go home again, you can find lust again, and she finds a love interest in Scott, her coworker. She also discovers his secret, that he’s a drummer for a heavy metal band, and falls hard for him…just in time to find that, between his questionable friends and psychotic maybe-ex-girlfriend, he might not be the right guy for her. But her heart beats like a drum for him, and she finds herself willing to play with fire to get closer
This isn't even close to all the books Jade has written! She's written a complete series called the Nickie Sosebee Series! This series is presently composed of 8 following titles:
~ Got the Life
~ Dead
~ No Place to Hide
~ Right Now
~ One More Time
~ Lost
~ Innocent Bystander
~ Blind
The series isn't complete which I'm sure fans of this series are probably pretty psyched about! I haven't read any of the Nicki Sosebee series but I have added them to my TBR and plan on remedying this situation in the VERY near future!
Jade's lastest release is Bullet which I have been singing it's praises since I started reading and finished reading it last weekend! This book was AMAZING! I'm totally in love with the book and have my fingers crossed that Jade will make a series out of this one! There's a couple characters I WANT to know a heck of a lot more about!!!

Now I've been following Jade on her Facebook page since the beginning of the year, kicking myself for not realizing that she HAD one until then, so I knew she was working on Bullet and to say I was STOKED to get my hands on it is a COMPLETE understatement! Here's my review of Bullet and you can decide for yourself:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jade took the time to answer my interview questions so that we could all learn a little more about my fellow Colorado Rocker Girl.........................
~ What inspired you to write your first book?
My answer is probably going to sound a little glib, but I have never not written. I wrote mini books as a kid—a silly mystery series, kind of like chapter books. The first “real” book, though, was a book I wrote when I was an undergrad, and that book actually became the basis for what is the book Bullet. I can’t imagine not writing, and while I have gone through phases in my life where I haven’t written much, I have always had the compulsion to write. What inspired Bottom of My Heart, the book that became Bullet? Well…I wanted to be in a heavy metal rock band, so it kind of started as a “what if”? What if a naïve young girl stumbled into her dream? It’s the “what if” that inspired my first book and continues to drive my writing.
~ Where did you come up with the ideas for your Tangled Web Series, Nicki Sosebee, MADversary, Then Kiss Me & Bullet novels?
Running with “what if.” Tangled Web started because I was watching a high school talent show and a couple of kick ass bands played. They wowed me! It started there. I thought back to my high school days. I’d had an “almost boyfriend” who played the drums for a band. I say “almost” because I don’t think he knew how badly I was crushing on him. We were just friends. So flash forward to that talent show and I thought “What if there’s a girl here who was like I was?” That became the inspiration for Tangled Web. Really, all it takes is a glimmer of an idea and then I just start running.
Nicki Sosebee…I wanted to write about a girl who just didn’t give a crap about what anyone else thought. I wanted her ballsy. I wanted her to treat sex like the sluttiest guy on the planet and with no remorse. I wanted her to have a sailor mouth. But I also needed her to have a reason to be all these things. She’s a girl from a religiously repressed household who has broken free. She works low-paying jobs and can’t seem to get ahead. And years ago she had a one-night stand with her hotter-than-hot best friend and when that didn’t work out, she turned to sex as therapy, so to speak. Flash forward to eight years later, and we have liberated Nicki deciding she wants more, so she manages to snag a job as a reporter of the local newspaper. I love writing Nicki. I’ve said it multiple times, but she really does feel like a close friend to me.
MADversary, I knew I wanted to write another rock star novel, but I realized if I wasn’t careful, the premise might grow old. Again, though, it’s one of those stories—well, we didn’t work out in high school but maybe now that we’re a little more mature, we can make it work.
Then Kiss Me was a book I wrote a long, long time ago and recently found a way to “make it work.” This time, I thought, “What if there was a pretty humble guy who loved music, loved being in a band, but had no aspirations to go much further?” Add to that a young confused woman who can’t find her place in the world. Throw them together and watch the sparks fly.
I already mentioned it earlier, but Bullet was a young girl’s fantasy novel, and I actually explain it somewhat in the Foreword to the book. It started out as a “Wow—what if someone like me managed to be in a heavy metal band?” I wrote the basis for the book in the eighties, back when women in metal were rare. I worshipped the hell out of Lita Ford. She was one of few women able to break into the metal boys’ club. So it really was a fantasy. But I started thinking about that book last fall, wondering if there’d be a way to make it viable. At first I thought, “Absolutely not,” but then my imagination went wild. What if the heroine penned some kick ass lyrics, better than the guys in the band could ever hope to? And I started running with it!
~ Is there any "truth" to in your books, for example, have you met a Rock Star that became your muse for the story or do you have a muse?
Oh, my God. No! I have never met a famous rock star in real life. I’d probably be a total spaz fangirl. Seriously. I do joke about having a muse, and I really can’t explain it, except that sometimes it feels like these brilliant flashes come over me or a character just kind of takes over and it feels like I’m recording dictation instead of writing. That’s my “muse.” She guides me through the murky waters of a story. As far as "truth," there are always glimmers of truth in my books. For example, the religious repression of some of my characters? That'd be me. I write what I know, and that's usually where the truth comes in. I tend to love rock stars in general, so usually there's not a specific one...it's an amalgamation of them all!
~ Can you share what you might have in the works at this time?
Absolutely! I’m always working on the next book. Next up on the horizon is Seal All Exits(Tangled Web #3) and then Fake (Nicki Sosebee #9). After that? I have a few options, but those two are definitely what’s next on my plate.
~ What types of music do you like to listen to?
Metal, metal, and metal. I’m a music snob. Seriously. If I need to be more specific, I suppose I could say nu metal, metalcore, death metal, classic metal, etc. If it’s metal, I listen to it. If it’s not metal…I probably don’t.
~ Name 3 of your favorite Bands
Oh. That’s hard. That’s really hard. I have so many favorites and they change based on my mood or a point in time. Right now, though, I’d probably have to say Korn, Lamb of God, and As I Lay Dying. I guarantee it'll be different six months from now.
~ Do you create a playlist while your working on your books?
Not on purpose, but yes. I cannot write without music. Sometimes I’ll listen to music that is meant to be inspirational for whatever I'm writing (for example, for a couple of scenes inTangled Web, I listened to Korn’s Issues album over and over, and I listened to Judas Priest'sDefenders of the Faith CD over and over while writing No Place to Hide). Other times, I’ll just listen to the latest CD I bought (for instance, while writing Bullet, I listened to Papa Roach’s new CD The Connection), but that just scratches the surface for that book. I listened to a wide variety (and large quantity) of music while writing that book. I actually posted a playlist on my website (and Facebook page) that covered most of the music I consumed while writing the book, but I know I forgot a few. Like I said, I'm always playing music, and that's no exaggeration. If the music's not playing, I can't write.
~ Name one Rocker you wouldn't mind meeting in person or have met in person
Whew. That’s tough. Retired or currently working? I’ve been going crazy on my Facebook page, stirring up my team, because—for the first time ever—an actual rock star (retired) was a partial inspiration for the character Jet in Bullet. Would be cool to meet him. Again, though, I’d be the biggest spaz on the planet. I'm sure I would completely embarrass myself.
I have met some of the guys from my favorite local bands. It’s great to connect with them, and one band in particular actually “starred” in the last Nicki Sosebee book, so that was fun.
Anyway, thanks again, Kim! Fun questions!
Rock on,
Jade
