Ladies, let me just start that I have been a LONG time fan of Jasinda's. I adore so many of her books and considered one helluva talented writer! Alpha is unlike anything else I've read by her. It was completely engrossed! I didn't want to do anything other than read the book! Once I started I HAD to know what was going on! There were so many twists & turns that I found myself gobbling up the pages in anticipation of what the next page would reveal!

The first time it happened, it seemed like an impossible miracle. Bills were piling up, adding up to more money than I could ever make. Mom's hospital bills. My baby brother's tuition. My tuition. My first thought when I saw the first Chapter of Alpha shared at the back of Falling Under was......



I totally FLIPPED out I knew this was a book I just HAD to read! When I was offered an ARC I did my usual.....



Kyrie St. Clair is a single college student trying to make it on her own. She supports both her younger college age brother and Mother who is under full-time care due to mental illness. A dedicated daughter carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. A weight at such a young age that many of us have never experienced the trials & tribulations that this strong young woman has. Imagine thinking you were up for a Full-Time position at your temporary job only to walk in to be told you were being let go. I think I would've been....



Kyrie's mind immediately goes to where anyone who lives paycheck to paycheck's mind goes. How much money is in my account? What do I owe? How am I going to pay my bills? Oh her former boss is quite the .....



too bad for him his thoughts do not align with Kyrie's and he messed with the wrong girl. I was so for her........



My girl Kyrie one-up him and it had me.......



Distraught & afraid security is after her Kyrie does what any smart woman would do.......



The temporary agency doesn't have anything else for her. She arrives at her apartment eviction notice posted. Electricity shut off and the whole world just coming down around her. She call's her BFF who like any TRUE BFF tells her to come crash at her pad. Now just stop right here.... I want you to....



in Kyrie's shoes. Everything has just gone downhill in a BIG way. You are basically left alone to figure all this out. Sure you have a BFF but she's in the same financial boat you are in. She's always there for emotional support and gives you whatever she can afford. You are going through your mail.. you know how it goes..... BILLS... BILLS....BILLS....JUNK MAIL..BILLS...something addressed specifically to you...BILLS... as you are absently minded going through the mail while on the phone you open that piece of mail that you don't recognize and you (well I sure the hell would)..........



In your hands is a check made out to you for $10,000. You don't know who it's from and although you try to find out it leads to a dead end. All you do know is that this money will help tremendously. This money will catch you up on bills owed and give you a small cushion. But you start to......



Do you cash it? What are the terms? Will you be expected to pay it back? You've determined, with the aide of you faithful BFF, that it's real but the basic needs of your family come first and you set aside any doubts. The only thing on this check is printed on the memo line "You". Oh ladies, I would've been very.....



But honestly if I was in that position I would've chased that puppy as fast as I can. Kyrie's back is against the wall. She doesn't have any other choice but unlike some people (who would go all willy-nilly & blow it) Kyrie puts some away and continues to look for another job.

The next month rolls by and your "secret" friend has mailed you yet another $10,000. You've cashed the first one so you might as well cash the second. Come on ladies the time for being careful was with the first check. I was tempted to .....



but Kyrie is portrayed as such a strong woman who has been dealt a crap hand in life. She already has suffered a tremendous loss which subsequently led to the downfall of her remaining parent. Memo line notes "Belong"...this is the part in the book I was starting to picture .......



Cause that's just where my mind went. You know something is going to happen. It has to! Money doesn't just .......



from the sky! Third month...you seeing a pattern here.. another check for $10,000 and the memo line state "To Me". When I got to this point I started.....



and I couldn't.......



Holy Moly, put it all together "You Belong To Me"... Oh I certainly was....



Much to my amusement, cause I thought doors would be busting down by this time, the checks continue every month, same amount and Kyrie continues on with school & her dismal social life (if you could call what she has a social life). No more notes written in the memo lines of the checks.

Exactly one year after the first check was received Kyrie opens the door to an unknown man that came to "collect" her. It was time to pay up. She had 2 choices ~ pay up the full balance or come with him as she did agree to the terms by cashing the checks. This ladies is where everything starts to get.......



just a little crazy...Whisked away in a limousine, private jet and off she goes to New York. She's getting ready to meet who "bought" her and her mind is running a thousand miles and hour. She arrives and she's....





All she has is a voice to go by.. He won't reveal WHO he is initially. He won't let her see him. He basically informs her she will "obey" him and she will want to submit. I'm not submissive so I wanted to .....



his Alpha arse right then & there. While I was reading this I was posting on Facebook! I started to have very serious.....



and ......



moments. There were a TON of......



when things slowly are explained. I got a little.....



But then Jasinda would remind us of the Alpha's smooth domineering voice. The kind of voice that makes goose bumps appear and ....



I read the first physical description of Alpha (no not telling you his name that's part of the discovery) and I was.....



The sex was deliciously hot! The kind of scenes that make you squirm while you are reading the book but the book is so damned awesome you can't put it down so you don't dare wake your significant other, if you have one! Oh Kyrie & Alpha sizzled when they.....



BUT!!!!! Remember there is a REASON behind all of this! Things were clicking! Some falling was involved on both sides! Then something is revealed and I........



NO FREAKING WAY!!!!! WTH.... OH SHE DID IT LADIES!!! I started.....



and did a few little.....



and then I was really.....



Oh this was BAD! VERY bad! Devastating BAD! Tear your world apart BAD!! By the end of the book I was .......



and .......



and bowing down to Queen Jasinda!

Alpha is a 5 ++++++ OMG star read! Jasinda has written something different than any other book I've read when it comes to an Alpha male! The seduction, intrigue, and betrayal was scrumptious! The book pulls you in immediately! It keeps you "entranced"! I couldn't put the book down. I just HAD to know the How, When, Where and Why's of it all!!

In the end, does Kyrie "belong" to this Alpha male or did this elaborate ruse blow up in his face. HA I'm not saying.... You have to read this one and you can....

If your looking for a delightfully sexy, suspenseful, dominant read then Alpha is what you're looking for! Completely & totally recommend this one! It will devastate all your senses leaving you wanting much more!

Review of It Ain't Me, Babe by Tillie Cole



I just LOVE when I stumble across a book that gives me goose bumps! I had seen a ton of "talk" about It Ain't Me, Babe on Facebook and it was pulling in some great 5 star reviews so I thought what the heck I'm going to one click this one and give it a shot. OMG! That was the BEST decision I've made ALL month! This book was UN-FREAKING-BELIEVEABLE! When I finished it crossed my mind that this Author is PURE GENIUS.

This isn't your typical MC read. There is very heavy subject matter and some of it may be difficult for some reader's to swallow. This is a standalone but I loved how the Author left the door open to the possibility (Oh God, I hope) of another book! This could turn out to be a major series. There are so many AWESOME secondary characters with obvious issues and backgrounds I'm sure I couldn't fathom! As soon As I finished the book I just HAD to post a review!

I had seen this book popping up all over Facebook so I decided to that I needed to give it a go...... I'm so .......



that I gave this one a shot! This is the first book I've read by this author and I want more... I'm not ashamed to .....



for more, if I have to!

Salome (Mae) has spent her entire life as part of The Order. A religious cult deep in the woods of Texas. A cult that brainwashed their followers into believing that anything outside of the "walls" was evil and full of sin. A cult that followed through with unspeakable acts that made me.....



and made me want to....



a TON of people. At the tender age of 8, Mae experiences something that I like to think was a miracle. An interaction with a boy. A boy from the outside. A boy with beautiful hazel eyes. A boy who literally saved her. Little did he know that when he happened upon her that day he brought something for Mae to hold on to. Something for her to cling to in the darkest hours. Something that would get her through atrocities that left me.......



After a heartbreaking tragic event that left Mae utterly torn apart she decided to....

Styx has never forgotten his beautiful ice blue wolf eyed beauty he came across in the forest when he was 11 years old. She was his THIRD. You are going to have to read the book to figure out what that means. She was his angel, his dream, and in his eyes perfection. Styx is the Prez of the MC known as the Hangman Mute he is both revered and feared far and wide. Styx is 100% Bad Boy to the BONE. He constantly had me.....




Oh his Ab's .....



When his eyes connect with Mae... well fasten those seatbelts, pull down the metal bar and prepare yourself for....



You are about to be taken on a WILD FREAKING RIDE!!!! Gosh my emotions there was so many of them and I was ....



Many times!!! There were times I was .....



and times where I was.....



around like the lunatic I am. The sex, OH MY, it was down right HOT as Hades.. Styx and Mae definitely had.....



a connection. I could feel that damn thing jumping from the pages. I got to one point in the book and I just had to ....



Styx, Styx, Styx...... Oh Styx.... and I definitely wanted to...



I could feel something was brewing in the book. I wasn't lackadaisical in my reading thinking everything was going to be A-OK. Nope, I felt that sucker coming and when it did I was completely .......



and I had to.....



and then my...



I was ........




My poor dogs, they will never be the same. Then I .....



and I couldn't stop! You've got to be KIDDING me. Seriously, that's what you pull at 99% in? Well, here's what I have to say about that..



My dog's and I definitely were....



PURE GENIOUS, I say! Talk about a whopper.... The secondary cast was as awesome as Styx & Mae. You will grow to love each and everyone of them. You will want MORE of them and you will want to know what their background story is. Believe me the men in the Hangman MC are bad, bad, bad and sometimes they say things that make you feel Oh so good!

Beware who you trust. Not everyone is who you think they are. When you get to end you will start to question every opinion you formed on a certain character and you will be left as I am.....



It Ain't Me, Babe is 6++++++++++++++ star read for me. It's dark, gritty, down & dirty, violent and at times sweet & sexy (I'm surprised I thought that). Styx & Mae are two people who have to overcome tremendous obstacles. Two people each with a cross to carry. Will they find that the key to their happiness is each other or as Styx said "It Ain't Me, Babe."

I fell head over heels in love with Mae's character. Her strength is utterly amazing. The obstacles she overcomes. The deep betrayal she experienced. The realization that she can have what she always wanted touched me. Mae felt REAL to me. Mae came out of a situation that 99% of our population will never grasp or come across in our lives. To start from the beginning and re-learn everything you were ever taught takes a very strong soul to stand up and take the reins to their own destiny.

Styx will touch your heart. Underneath all that "evil & sin" is a heart of gold. A man who had to learn to speak with his fist so he was strong and his disability never held him back. Styx had so much pressure and responsibility upon him it amazed me that he was sober in parts of the book. He too is a strong character. He doesn't apologize for his way of life. He was born with his cut. His MC is his FAMILY and it's his life but does he have room for Mae? Well you have to read it to find out!

I highly recommend this one! I've been shouting it out all over my Facebook page. When a book grabs me like this one I have to let everyone know. I seriously believe if you don't read this book you are totally missing out!

I'm looking forward to reading more from this author! My fingers are oh so crossed that we get MORE of the Hangman and "others". Please, Please, Please!!!!!!

This is a standalone novel. I personally consider the book having an ending but also with a door left crack for many more possibilities!

It was chilly in the basement. It was unfinished—concrete floors and walls, and a couple of shelves along one wall. It appeared to be the same size as the ground floor, but there were no walls. It was wide open. Mark wheeled out a few space heaters that had been hugging the wall, plugged them in, and turned them on. I stood next to one before deciding to go back upstairs to grab my coat. As I passed Diesel, he gave me a hateful look and that made me want to leave for good. So I grabbed my coat upstairs, but instead of heading back to the basement where the guys were tuning their instruments, I went into the bathroom and leaned against the counter, trying to decide if I wanted to find a place to sit tight or if I wanted to be brave and sit downstairs with a look of defiance on my face. Not sitting in the basement would be giving up. It would, on some level, be cowardly, and I knew that until his friends accepted me, I’d have to get used to their coldness. While it upset me on a personal level, I could understand where they were coming from when I really thought about it. Either they thought I broke up Kage’s marriage and I was here flaunting it (before the wedding corpse was even cold, so to speak) or they simply didn’t like a woman barging in on their guy time, especially practice time. If that was the case, I didn’t want to sit in there. I knew they were creating and working, and I didn’t want to interfere with it or make them feel awkward. If those had been the only vibes I thought I was getting, I could live with it and I’d even offer to stay out. Unfortunately, I was positive that wasn’t all I was feeling.

So I looked at my face in the mirror as though reasoning with myself, weighing the pros and cons that would influence my decision. I felt like Scarlett in Gone with the Wind, getting dressed before Melanie’s birthday party, only I didn’t have a Rhett demanding that I had to go. I was my own Rhett too, chiding myself for not moving, not going in there and dealing with whatever cold shoulders they wanted to give me. It was then, as I was focusing on my breathing and working up my courage, that I heard a tap on the door. I cleared my throat. "Yes?"

It was Kage. "Everything okay in there?"

I hadn’t lied to this man yet, and I wasn’t about to now. "No, not really."

"Are you sick?"

"No." I faced the door and turned the knob, peeking my head out.

"What’s wrong?"

I opened the door farther, inviting him in. I lowered my voice. "I feel really awkward around those guys. I know they resent me, and that’s fine, but I can’t decide if I want to hang out in the basement. I don’t know if they’re hating me because they think I’m the reason why you broke up with Fay or if they just don’t want me to watch you practice."

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close after closing the door behind him. "Or maybe they’re pissed because I got the girl."

I raised my eyebrows and smiled in spite of myself. "Oh, that’s not it."

"Maybe it is." I knew he was full of shit, but I didn’t mind when his lips brushed mine or when he drowned me in a kiss. It was easy to forget what I’d been feeling just moments ago. "They’re just going to have to get used to you." He scanned my eyes until he could see my understanding, and then he kissed me once more. "Was it my imagination, or did you like my hand on your leg at the dinner table?"

If I’d blushed easily, my cheeks would have turned pink then, because I was surprised at how well he’d learned to read me in such a short time. My voice sounded hoarse and foreign to my ears when I responded. "The naughty side of me wanted you to keep going."

AUTHOR BIO:

Michelle Kemper Brownlow has been a storyteller her entire life. Her debut was on the high school cheerleading bus granting requests to re-tell her most embarrassing moments for a gaggle of hysterical squad mates.

Earning her Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University in Art Education and then marrying her very own “Jake,” she moved to Binghamton, NY where she taught high school. After having two children she quit work and finished her Master’s degree in Elementary Education at Binghamton University.

The Brownlow family of four moved to Michelle’s hometown of Morgantown, PA while the children were still quite young. A few years after moving, her family grew by one when they welcomed a baby into their home through the gift of adoption. The family still resides in PA, just miles from where that high school cheer bus was parked.

Michelle has been an artist for as long as she can remember, always choosing pencils and crayons over toys and puzzles. As a freelance illustrator, her simple characters play the starring roles in numerous emergent reader books published by Reading Reading Books.
