Happy New Year's

Stick Girl Book Reviews Favorite Reads of 2013

I can’t believe 2013 is almost over! Where has the time gone? I firmly believe the older we get the faster time flies .

It’s been quite the year for me! I’ve had some really happy highs (Book Bash & Naughty Mafia Signing) and I’ve had a few bumps in the road. I left my job of 15 years in the corporate world in July 2013 although it was a hard decision to make it was something I haven’t regretted at all. I took some time recently for “me” and I’m ready to become more active on my blog. I missed all of you! I love talking books! I love sharing the books that make me do my freak-outs and I love hearing what fellow readers have to say about books! As long as I have one person who follows me and wants to chat books I will continue to do this!

I’ve read 287 books in 2013. I was just shy of my Goodreads goal of 300 books to read, oh well I can try again next year  The following books I read over the past year that truly affected me one way or another have made to my Favorite Reads of 2013. These books had me……

Or totally gave me a …..

moment….Many times I thought….

And I definitely was a ….

Now some of the reads combined ALL of the above emotions but by the end of each of and every one of these reads I was …

And admittedly there were a few characters that I wished I could’ve…

There are so many books as well as authors I truly adore and compiling a list of this nature was not easy. In fact, I joked that this was the biggest stressor in my life and once I stated that I realized WOW! I’m blessed if this my stress!

I would like to thank all of the fantastic authors in our book world for sharing their dreams with all of us. Your dreams have helped me through some of my most difficult times this year. They have brought a smile to my lips, a gasp of outrage or shock (both most of the time), a screaming cry of outrage or sorrow, a sobbing stomach hurt can’t talk moment, a WTH just happened did I read that right and a ton of freaky dance moves that my children got a kick out of to me.

I would also like to thank those authors that have thought of me the past few months while I stepped away from blogging. Those of you who contacted me just to see how I was doing or say Hello, those of you who arbitrarily sent me an ARC of your latest book just to do it! There are truly no words to express how touched I was by your thoughtfulness. Those surprise emails and PM made my day!

To my FB friends and followers ~ Oh my, you have been absolutely fantastic to me! I so appreciate all the kind words, the laughs, the simply reaching out and where the heck are you PM’s. I often talk about my “book friends” with my friends and family and how much each and everyone of you mean to me. If you ever need anything you know I will always be here! I love you ALL!

I’m looking forward to 2014 and I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year’s. May you & yours be blessed with health and happiness this upcoming year. I can’t wait to “chat” books with each and every one of you!

Happy New Year's!!!!!!!!

Love,
